June 28, 2013

Rockport, ME - CedarWorks owner, Barrett Brown has provided one of his company’s largest outdoor playsets for the children’s services programming operated by Broadreach Family & Community Services at their Rockland Mid-Coast Children’s Services location. The Frolic Series-14 "Mountain" provides a 24’ by 20’ set made from splinter-free, chemical-free Northern White Cedar. A dedication of the playset donation will occur later this summer on a date to be announced for 272 Park Street in Rockland. The public will be invited to attend.

"CedarWorks is excited to partner with Broadreach Family and Community Services to help families and children lead healthy, productive lives," stated Barrett Brown, CedarWorks company president. "We are delighted that families will have the opportunity to spend quality time together on a CedarWorks playset while benefiting from the wonderful programs offered by Broadreach," added Brown.

"The donation of this playset from CedarWorks is so incredibly generous," shared Kate Quinn Finlay, Executive Director of Broadreach. "We provide a range of services to young children at this location. This playset will help in the development of their sensory and gross motor skills and provide positive social and emotional development. The playset will also encourage exploration and curiosity through play for children enrolled in our Early Childhood Program at Mid-Coast Children Services, one of Broadreach’s Knox County programs."

CedarWorks has been crafting the finest child, parent, and earth-friendly playsets for over three decades. Their company location in Rockport produces highly customizable indoor and outdoor children’s playsets and playset/furnishings with a unique modular system. Broadreach Family & Counseling Services is a non-profit organization serving people of all ages in Knox and Waldo counties with a wide array of programs including case management for children, teens, and adults with developmental or behavioral health challenges, early childhood programming including preschool and PreKindergarten , Youthlinks programming for middle and high school students, and parent education and child abuse prevention programs, as well as literacy programming.

Quinn Finlay notes, "Broadreach has been very fortunate to have the support of the people and businesses of the mid-coast. They understand the need for private support in this time of reduced federal and state funding for many programs. They have shown time and time again their generous spirit. In fact, this is the second playset donated by CedarWorks. The new set will replace a set donated over two decades ago and had been in use daily since its installation. We feel twice blessed by CedarWorks."
